25th Anniversary
(To the tune of Summertime Blues)
I'm gonna tell you all a story
Gonna tell you how it happened
That Bill and Cindy would be here with you
A havin' fun and dancin'.
Well, he was a sailor,
And she was still in school.
They went out on a date.
He thought she was really cool!
Sometimes I wonder if they're ever gonna stop
Dancin' and a swingin' to those Summertime Blues.
Well, they met in the summertime.
The year was '64 then.
They were married three months later.
Drove a '52 Chevy.
Well, he finished the Navy
And he worked for the city,
But before you know it
There was Tom, and Kim and me.
Sometimes I wonder if they're ever gonna stop
Dancin' and a swingin' to those Summertime Blues.
Well, they bought a house in Long Beach
Where they could raise their kids now.
Cindy worked part-time
And then she helped out with the Girl Scouts.
Well, now she works at PBS
From 8 to 4,
But they come here every Saturday
To dance a little more.
Sometimes I wonder if they're ever gonna stop
Dancin' and a swingin' to those Summertime Blues
