40th Birthday Song
(To the tune of Summertime Blues)
I'm gonna tell you all a story
'Bout my brother on his birthday.
'Bout his twenty years in Fullerton
Before he moved out this way.
Well, when he was younger,
He would bike, and camp and ski,
But he ate too much Haagen Dasz
And then he hurt his knee.
Sometimes it's hard to believe how long it's been,
But he's fourty and we love him, whatever shape he's in.
Well, he grew up down in Long Beach
Where he sunbathed in the back yard.
Had to brag to me and sister too
How easily he turned brown.
Well he worked for the market,
Now he's at the Unified.
The greatest thing he ever did
Was make Michelle his bride.
He may not glow like he did those years ago,
But he's got a lovely daughter and for this Michelle we owe.
Well our Susy she's an angel,
But she's bound to give him gray hairs.
After all she is his daughter,
And he did give our mom her share.
Partying while we were gone,
Food fights at the store,
Snooped out the gifts,
Knocked the bully on the floor.
Gray hairs and wrinkles, he's sure to have a few,
But he's fourty and our love for him forever will be true.
Yeah, sometimes it's hard to believe how long it's been,
But he's fourty and we love him, whatever shape he's in.
